
In an effort to engage the next generation of transatlanticists committed to supporting and strengthening the relationship between Germany and the United States, the American Council on Germany (ACG) is excited to announce the return of the summer program for students and young professionals completing internships in New York called Germany Connect: Networking for Global Professionals.
Over a series of five events at the ACG’s office (Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm), participants will meet with experts in their fields to discuss key economic, political, social, and other topics impacting the transatlantic partnership, and have the opportunity to network with one another during their summer internships and studies in New York City. Dinner will be provided. Participants are expected to attend all five events.
Germany Connect 2026 Dates:
- Opening Session – June 17
- Session 2 – July 1
- Session 3 – July 15
- Session 4 – July 29
- Closing Session 5 – August 5
Candidates for the Germany Connect program must:
- Hold an internship or be studying in New York City
- Be under the age of 26
- Have an interest in Germany
To apply for Germany Connect, please use the link below where you will be asked to submit:
- Required:
- A short essay (200-300 words) outlining your interest in German American relations, why you want to participate in the program, and what you think you will gain.
- Your current resume.
- Optional, but Recommended:
- A Letter of Recommendation
- Can be from a professor, former/current employer, volunteer supervisor, etc.
- A Letter of Recommendation
Applications for Summer 2026 are due by May 22, 2026. Selected participants will receive confirmation by June 5.
