Charlotte: From Checkbook Diplomacy to Global Crisis Management: The Evolution of German Foreign Policy

The Charlotte Warburg Chapter will host a discussion and luncheon with Conrad Haessler, Spokesperson for the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations. 

There will be a $25 charge for members and nonmembers to attend this event.

Conrad Haessler has been serving as the spokesperson of the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations since July 2015. Prior to his current position, Mr. Haessler was part of the foreign policy team at the German Chancellery, working on dossiers such as the Common Security and Defense Policy of the European Union as well as French-German bilateral relations. On his first diplomatic assignment abroad, he was in charge of cultural affairs at the German embassy in Beijing / China. Mr. Haessler holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University as well as a M.A. in European Politics from Lund University (Sweden).
