The American Council on Germany and the German Center for Innovation and Research New York will host a Breakfast Briefing with Frank Bösenberg, Managing Director of Silicon Saxony e.V.
Frank Bösenberg, Managing Director of Silicon Saxony e.V., was born in Cottbus and raised in Dresden, and holds a degree in civil engineering and business administration from the Technical University Dresden. After building an administrative department at the Technical University Dresden which deals with support in EU-funded R&D projects, he spun out a consultancy company in 2009. In 2014, he joined Silicon Saxony as Silicon Europe’s project coordinator and has been leading the 600+ member network organization as Managing Director since 2019, with the goal of expanding and strengthening the state of Saxony as Europe’s leading microelectronics location by connecting manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, colleges/universities, research institutes, public institutions and industry-relevant start-ups. He was appointed as an individual expert of the European Commission with regard to clusters and also supported the report on the EU Chips Act by the Committee of Regions, being appointed by the rapporteur from Saxony, Thomas Schmidt. Mr. Bösenberg recently participated in the ACG’s German-American Semiconductor Cities Network program, bringing together key stakeholders from German and American cities to address the social, economic, and structural impacts of semiconductor investments in their communities.
