Anup Kothari is Chairman of BASF Corporation in North America, a role he assumed in 2025. He joined BASF in 1999 and his journey in BASF took him to various international assignments in Germany and China. He had different business roles in Care Chemicals, Catalysts, and took over as President of the Performance Chemicals division in 2017. Starting in 2021, he led the Nutrition & Health division. Mr. Kothari was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE in 2024.
Mr. Kothari earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India, and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
