The ACG will host a discussion and reception with State Secretary Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr of the Federal Foreign Office.
Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr has been a State Secretary in the Federal Foreign Office since May 2025. He is a German career foreign service officer who most recently served as Germany’s Permanent Representative to NATO and, before that, as Germany’s Ambassador to Russia. He has held key positions in other government agencies, including serving as Political Director in the Federal Ministry of Defense from 2014 to 2019; Vice President of the Federal Intelligence Service from 2010 to 2014; and Head of Division of the Foreign and Security Policy Directorate-General in the Federal Chancellery from 2006 to 2010. From 2001 to 2006, he was a staff member of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag and advised Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble on foreign and security policy.
Dr. von Geyr joined the foreign service in 1991 after studying Modern History, Ancient History, and Communication in Munich, Budapest, and Vienna, as well as Political Science in Munich and Washington, DC.
