DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nThe American Council on Germany will host a Breakfast Briefing  on “Current Geopolitics and Trade: The Impact on the German Automotive Sector” with Eckart von Klaeden\, Vice President and Head of External Affairs of Mercedes-Benz Group AG (1997 Young Leader). \nIf you are interested in attending\, please email events@acgusa.org by Monday\, April 20 for more information.  \nEckart von Klaeden joined Daimler AG – now Mercedes-Benz Group AG – in 2013 and has been Head of External Affairs ever since. In his current position\, he is responsible for the Group´s external relations and political dialogue worldwide. He reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Management\, Ola Kaellenius. \nMr. von Klaeden served as a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 to 2013. As a Member of Parliament\, he held various positions: among others from 2000 – 2005 as parliamentary director\, from 2005 – 2009 as foreign policy spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. As of 2004\, he was a member of the CDU’s Federal Executive Committee\, from 2006 – 2013 he also served as a member of the Presidium and from 2006 – 2010 as treasurer of the CDU. As of 2009\, he was Minister of State at the Office of the Federal Chancellor.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
