DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The American Council on Germany and the Hanns Seidel Stiftung will host a breakfast briefing with Christian Schmidt\, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina\, President of the German Atlantic Society\, and Deputy Chairman of the Hanns Seidel Foundation\, on “Transatlantic Relations in Times of Geopolitical Challenges”.  \nChristian Schmidt has served as the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2021. Before his appointment\, he was a Member of the Bundestag since 1990\, representing the electoral district of Fürth. During that time\, Mr. Schmidt served as Minister of Food and Agriculture from 2014 to 2018. He was also the Parliamentary Secretary of State in the German Federal Ministry of Defense from 2005 to 2013\, as well as Parliamentary Secretary of State in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development from December 2013 until February 2014. Mr. Schmidt is also the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Hanns Seidel Foundation\, and President of the German Atlantic Association. \nMr. Schmidt studied Law at the University of Erlangen and University of Lausanne.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
