DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Los Angeles Warburg Chapter will host a discussion and luncheon with Dr. Barbara Hendricks\, Federal Minister for the Environment\, Nature Conservation\, Building and Nuclear Safety. \nThere is a $50 charge for ACG members and a $55 charge for nonmembers to attend this event. Registration is required by Thursday\, February 23. \nDr. Barbara Hendricks has been the Federal Minister for the Environment\, Nature Conservation\, Building\, and Nuclear Safety since December 2013. Before that\, she served as the Federal Treasurer of the Social Democratic Party\, beginning in 2007. From 1998 to 2007\, she was a Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance. Since 1994\, Dr. Hendricks\, who has a doctorate in History\, has represented her home district of Kleve in the German Bundestag. Prior to that\, she had gained political and professional experience working for the Deutsches Studentenwerk (National Association for Student Affairs) and in the administration of the Land North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2001 to 2013\, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the SPD.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Seattle Warburg Chapter and the World Affairs Council of Seattle will host a discussion and luncheon with Dr. Cornelia Schu\, Managing Director of the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration (SVR) and Director of the Expert Council’s Research Unit.  \nThere is a $25 charge for ACG and World Affairs Council members and a $35 charge for nonmembers to attend the event. \nDr. Cornelia Schu serves as the SVR’s Managing Director as well as the Director of its Research Unit. Before joining the SVR\, Dr. Schu led Stiftung Mercator’s thematic cluster on integration\, where she gained extensive expertise in integration policy. She also worked as a Personal Assistant to the Secretary General and the Chairman of the German Council of Science and Humanities.
