SUMMARY:Priorities for Germany's G7 Presidency
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Germany has an ambitious agenda for its G7 Presidency in 2022 – and faces unexpected challenges. When Germany assumed the Presidency on January 1st\, it sought to achieve “progress towards an equitable world” through a focus on sustainability\, economic stability\, public health\, and investment in a better future. And\, it recognized the importance of a multilateral approach to addressing common global challenges. In late February\, however\, Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine put the global economic and security order at risk. \nHow will Germany take the lead in developing global solutions in the face of open conflict in Europe? Join the American Council on Germany and the German Embassy in Washington\, DC for the first of several events on Germany’s G7 Presidency. On Thursday\, May 5\, Dr. Jörg Kukies\, State Secretary for Economic\, Finance\, and European Affairs – and one of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s closes advisors – will provide an overview of the G7 Presidency prior to the G7 Leaders’ Summit in late June.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Register Here” style=”classic” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fus02web.zoom.us%2Fwebinar%2Fregister%2F9816511544282%2FWN_lP5kxI84Sgmb7Zz09JPpiw” css=”.vc_custom_1651154463476{background-color: #1e73be !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column_text]Dr. Jörg Kukies is the State Secretary for Economic\, Finance\, and European Affairs\, and G7/G20 Sherpa in the German Federal Chancellery.
