SUMMARY:Minneapolis: The Challenges of Immigration: Benefits and Obstacles to Seeking an Integrated Workforce
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Minneapolis Warburg Chapter and the German American Chambers of Commerce will host a discussion and luncheon with Christopher Cermak\, Journalist\, Former Editor at Handelsblatt Global.  \nThere will be a $25 charge for members and a $35 charge for nonmembers to attend. RSVP here by November 22. \nChristopher Cermak is a journalist who has returned to the United States after more than six years in Germany. He most recently served as editor and correspondent for Handelsblatt Global in Berlin\, covering politics\, finance and economics. Before that he worked for the financial news agency MNI (Market News International) out of Frankfurt and as U.S. correspondent in Washington D.C. for the German Press Agency dpa. A native English and German speaker\, Chris graduated from the University of York in England and the London School of Journalism\, and recently completed a course in political psychology at Stanford. \nAbstract: Immigration poses an economic and political challenge on both sides of the Atlantic\, but perhaps the biggest obstacle is one of perception. How do we tackle concerns in business and society that immigration and integration don’t mix? After six years covering economics and politics in Germany\, Chris is traveling the United States in an effort to understand\, explore and counter the dynamics of partisanship\, polarization\, prejudice and integration that have divided people and communities across the country.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
