DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The ACG and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will host a Political Salon with Thorsten Frei\, Member of the German Bundestag (CDU/CSU). \nTuesday\, June 6\, 2017\n6:00 p.m. Happy Hour\n6:30 p.m. Discussion followed by reception \nPlease click here to register or email events@acgusa.org \n  \nThorsten Frei has been a member of the German Bundestag (CDU/CSU) since October 2013. From 1994 to 1999\, he studied Law at the University of Freiburg. He worked as a Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Cooperative Education (now Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Lörrach) from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Frei practiced law from 2001 to 2002\, and from 2002 to 2004\, he served as a personal assistant to the Minister for State and European Affairs at the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry. He became the Mayor of Donaueschingen in 2004\, serving until 2013. From 1999 to 2004\, he was a member of the Bad Säckingen Town Council and Chairman of the CDU Parliamentary Group on the Bad Säckingen Municipal Council. From 2000 to 2004\, he was a member of the assembly of the Hochrhein-Bodensee Regional Association; Chairman of the Waldshut County branch of the CDU from 2001 to 2004; Chairman of the Baden-Württemberg Land branch of the Local Government Policy Association of the CDU from 2006 to 2016; Deputy Chairman of the Baden-Württemberg Land branch of the CDU since 2007; a member of the County Council since 2009; and Chairman of the CDU Parliamentary Group on Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis County Council since 2011.  political salon: promoting dialogue across generations. This series brings together a diverse group of younger and mid-career professionals for informal\, open discussions on a range of current political\, economic\, and social topics in an increasingly interconnected global environment – with an emphasis on issues of concern for the transatlantic agenda. Speakers share brief remarks and engage in a dynamic discussion with participants. Each salon includes refreshments and networking opportunities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
