Berlin: Fake News and Alternative Facts: Media’s Role in Shaping U.S. Politics

The American Council on Germany will host a discussion and reception with Oliver Bilger, Journalist and 2017 ACG Kellen Fellow.

Oliver Bilger (2017 Kellen Fellow) is a freelance journalist based in Berlin. He regularly works for the political department of Der Tagesspiegel. His reports have appeared in publications including Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Zeit Online, Die Welt, Cicero, and Handelsblatt. In 2017, he spent eight weeks as a visiting journalist at the Philadelphia Inquirer. He studied political science and communications in Mainz, Zurich, Berlin, and London and completed a two-year journalistic training at the Sueddeutsche Zeitung in Munich. During his Kellen Fellowship, he researched how media can protect against fake news and misinformation.
