Jim Cicconi was General Counsel, and later Senior Executive Vice President for External & Legislative Affairs, at AT&T until his retirement in 2016. Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Cicconi was a Partner in the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer, & Feld. Mr. Cicconi also served in the White House under two Presidents, including two years as Assistant to the President and Deputy to the Chief of Staff for President George H.W. Bush, and four years as Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan and to White House Chief of Staff James A. Baker, III. Mr. Cicconi has also worked for the Governor and the Secretary of State of Texas, and has been a presidential appointee to the U.S. Reform Observation Panel for UNESCO and the Administrative Conference of the United States. He was a Young Leader in 1984 and is a former member of the ACG Young Leaders Conference’s American Steering Committee.
