Who is eligible to apply for the Young Leaders Conference?
Applicants for the program should be American or German mid-career professionals between the ages of 28 and 38, who show promise in their given field.

When is the next Young Leaders Conference?
The next American-German Young Leaders Conference will occur from July 20 to 25, 2024

When are the applications due for the next Young Leaders Conference?
Applications for the 2024 Young Leaders Conference are due by March 27, 2024.

Where should my materials be sent?
A resume, letter of recommendation, copy of passport photo page, and nomination form may be sent to yl@acgusa.org.

Do I need to know how to speak German?
No, it is not required. The working language of the conference is English.

If chosen, what kind of activities might be part of the conference?
Parts of the conference are dedicated to discussions and working groups. The Young Leaders also have private audiences with high-level officials, opinion shapers, and analysts. Meetings vary every year, however past visits have included the offices of the Federal Parliament, the Reichstag, various Ministries, corporations, and startup incubators.

If chosen, what are my responsibilities?
Each participant at the Young Leaders Conference will have an assigned task, such as a presenter, facilitator, or rapporteur during the conference. Participants will be able to list their preferences for tasks before they are assigned.

May I be accompanied to the conference?
No spouses, significant others, or friends will be included in any part of the conference.

What if I cannot participate for the entire length of the conference?
If selected to attend the conference, one must participate in the full length of the conference.
